The Fighting Lambs of BPC.
The Fighting Lambs of Broadway Presbyterian Church have been Champions in the New York City Presbyterian league in 2005, 2009, 2010, and 2011. (The league includes teams from six other Manhattan congregations.)
The 'boys and girls of summer' come out to play at BPC when the Fighting Lambs take the field. All of our games are held in the North Meadow of Central Park. This is a "play to win" crowd -- but the emphasis is always on having a good time in the game. Good times often continue afterward, with a libation or two in a local hangout, as we recall the amazing plays that led to our most recent win...or loss (they do happen now and then.)
As the season approaches, if you'd like to join in, see Paul Frietas or L.J. Ganser. All are welcome on the team -- every game is co-ed. We only ask you to supply your own glove and athletic shoes. If you have a favorite bat, bring it along. And, even if playing isn't your thing, come cheer 'em on!
