Jesus once said, "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3) The children of the BPC family have as much to teach the grown-ups as the grown-ups have to teach them, maybe more.
We look forward to when we're all back together at Church -- but until then, our kids enjoy "zooming" together on Sundays at 9:30am, before the worship service. Contact email@example.com if you'd like your kids to join in!
Kids are welcome!
When we say “All are welcome,” we mean kids too, of course! We love having kids participate in worship whenever they choose. You’ll find a play area toward the back of the sanctuary — kids can play there, hang out with you, or help themselves to our activity bags that include coloring pages, stickers, and more. On select Sundays we facilitate intergenerational worship where kids take a more active role in the service, but we love seeing their faces on any given Sunday!
We do offer a kids’ program following the children’s moment. All ages are invited upstairs to take part in Godly Play with our facilitator, Denise, and a volunteer helper. The Godly Play program provides kids the opportunity to explore parables, Bible stories, and lectionary lessons through wonder and tactile exploration.
Illustrated Children's Ministry
Older, elementary-aged kids break off from the younger children after a gathering time, in order to take part in their own lesson and exploration led by Rev. Alexis Waggoner and a team of volunteers.
The table is open to everyone! On communion Sundays, kids who have gone upstairs for Godly Play will be brought back to the sanctuary to partake at their parents’ direction.
Parents’ Night Out
On the second Saturday of the month from 6-9pm, drop off your kids with our volunteer, Sylvia, to play, eat dinner, watch movies, and create their own community while you take some time off! Email our administrator, firstname.lastname@example.org to get put on the list for more information.
Whenever we can, we think it's important for our kids to learn the values of service and sharing. Children of all ages are welcome to participate with their parents in our volunteer programs -- working on the rooftop garden, serving meals at Community Table, even serving as Ushers in worship.
